Our Organization

Our next generation laboratory for anatomic, clinical pathology, and diagnostic imaging in Africa provides innovative and effective clinical management for our fast growing medical community. Using advanced technologies, local pathologists, in collaboration with some of the most notable cancer treatment centers in the United States of America and around the world, while providing a new world for medicine and diagnostic laboratories in the continent.

Our organization understands that the fight against cancer in our communities doesn’t stop at the edge of the hospital campus. To truly make a difference in the health of our community, we create outreach programs that will bring cancer prevention and early detection to the places where people live, work and play.

To beat cancer, we all need to be informed about its causes, the risk factors that can make it more likely and what we can do to reduce those risks. We need to take action to prevent cancer. And when cancer occurs, we need to detect it early, when there’s a better chance that it can be cured.

Our Dedication

The sub-Saharan African Healthcare Initiative is dedicated to helping our communities learn more about what causes cancer and the risk factors involved. We provide information about healthy behaviors and lifestyles to reduce risk factors and even prevent some cancers. And we make it easier for people to get the tests and the care that they need.

SsahiPath is committed to build and equip a network of state-of-the-art clinical laboratories and diagnostic centers to provide innovative and effective clinical care management in the sub-Saharan region. By using advanced technologies, local pathologists, in collaboration with some of the most notable cancer treatment centers in the United States of America and around the world, the goal of SsahiPath is to:

Team-up with local government to provide a new world for medicine and diagnostic laboratories throughout the sub-Saharan region.
Conduct training for clinical laboratory scientists and increase the number of practicing pathologists and pathologists' assistants in the region.
Build a regional cancer database that will connect and benefit cancer control in sub-Saharan Africa by aiding the development and implementation of national cancer control plan, supporting cancer registration, and supporting various types of research to include
  • Epidemiology
  • Basic science
  • Clinical trials
  • Translation research
SsahiPath strongly believe that educating relevant governmental agency staff, policy makers, and the clinical community about the central role and importance of pathology, is crucial to increase support for improved pathology and diagnostic imaging services in the region.
